Empathy is being able to recognise and share the emotions of another person. It involves first seeing someone else’s situation from their perspective and second, accurately identifying the emotions they are experiencing and feeling them alongside that person. Simply put empathy is putting yourself in somebody else’s shoes, trying to feel how they do, and seeing the world through their eyes. When interacting with people today listen to what they are saying, try to see things from their perspective, and recognise their emotions before you respond.
