Today it’s time to forgive them and let go of the negative emotions you feel. This can be difficult as they would have caused you to experience some form of pain whether that be physical, psychological, or a combination of both. However understanding the definition of forgiveness can make the process easier. Forgiveness is not forgetting what that person has done. It is not absolving someone from the responsibility of what they have done. It does not mean the relationship with that person is back to where it was before. It is not accepting being continually hurt. Forgiveness is just letting go of the negative emotion connected to it. It is you taking control and ownership of your feelings and emotions. Why should you have to hold onto anger, sadness, resentment, betrayal, or whatever the emotion maybe? True forgiveness is difficult but worthwhile. You will find taking ownership of your feelings and emotions toward another person both energising and invigorating.
